Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 (February 27, 2010) Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community that is located on the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. The people who aren't familiar with this term tend to think it's a separate island somewhere to the west of Montreal However, in reality this part of West Island is home to all things from Lachine west to the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel's birthplace has been frequently cited, however her short time in the city wasn't. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa, Ontario. She was determined to be a professional dancer, but because of a huge increase in her height, she outgrew the dance partners she had. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's 6 feet 1 inch tall and has heels. After I surpassed my male counterparts at that point, I gave up. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. In the case of Brugel it was because of the advice from her drama teacher at her high school which pushed her in the direction she wanted. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to go after a role in the school's annual production. It was her choice to take on the lead character in Anne of Green Gables after she had a go at. A Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel has been performing in over 60 plays, big and small. One of the most memorable was when she landed Rita's role on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actress in the season 1 and was only seen at times.
